So, I've been having fun goofing around with some illustrations the past couple days. I'm working on ways to showcase the 50 states (who knows if I'll do all 50 or not) and how to incorporate my own funky style into the illustrations.
This one was done on photoshop using one of my favorite paintings as the backdrop. It's up in the etsy shop!
On another note, my vacation is officially over today! Back to work (but I can't complain since I like my work!)

When Lindsey contacted me about doing some custom invitations for her wedding, she mentioned how much she loved my paintings and wanted to incorporate that feel into the suite. I instantly thought, "Hoorah!" How fun to get to create something that infuses what I truly love to do.
Lindsey wanted her invites to be colorful, watercolor-ish, and floral - and definitely different.
This is what we created for her big day...
PS: I use a great site called Cards and Pockets to do all my printing. They do a great job and are super affordable! This suite was printed on white linen.

The lovely Miranda of Sugar(ed) Occasions in Fort Lauderdale asked me to team up again for a styled shoot she is calling "Tropical Holiday". Since last time our shoot was published on Green Wedding Shoes (you can see it here), I jumped at the chance to work with her again.
Miranda's inspiration involved lot's of greens, shimmery golds, palm trees, and sparklers. I can't wait to see the styled shoot - but until then, here is a peek at the paper goods I created for her to use:

I designed, drew, and hand painted 6 frames for them to sell in their awesome shop, and I was so excited when I saw how they used them.

Hoorah for unveiling something today that I've been working on for a couple months now!
A lovely bride, Cristina, saw my hand lettering on etsy back in August, and contacted me about doing an entire custom wedding suite for her. How fun!
We've been working through the general theme and vibe for her event next summer via phone, email and Pinterest, but it's finally time to get her Save the Dates in the mail. For these, she wanted an illustration of her parents home - showcasing where her outdoor, elegant wedding will be.
I hand painted an illustration of the home, hand lettered most of the design, and went to work pieces things together. I'll also be hand addresing all the envelopes - don't they look sharp on the black envelopes with white ink?!
Cristina's colors are black, silver, ivory and pink - so I tried to bring out a lot of pink and warm tones in the illustration of the home. I love the way it turned out!
Although this is my first time designing an entire suite from start to finish, I'm loving the process. And despite the challenges of Cristina being in California, and me being in Virginia, it's going very smooth.
I'm so excited for the next phase of designing!
