I'm definitely hoping for some more time on my blog once we hit 2013, but for now, here is a little peek at what's been happening inside Makewells studio the past week or so...
Custom Hand Lettered Wedding Program
Hand lettering for some custom Christmas cards
130 Seating Cards for a January Wedding
One of a few custom paintings for photograph I did for Christmas orders
A few minutes in my sketchbook
Reflection time and lettering practice
There is always room for coffee in the studio!
130 hand lettered boxes for a December wedding
2 more days until we leave for South Florida! I probably won't be updating the blog until we get back, so Merry Christmas everyone!

I just found your site and your lettering is beautiful! Do you always use calligraphy pens or do you sometimes use markers? Those boxes look so nice, I was wondering if that was pen and ink or some type of marker.

Hi Mary! Thanks for the kind words!
I rarely use a dip pen and ink. I don't consider myself a "calligrapher" by any means, but an artist and hand letterer, so I'm not ashamed to say I simply use a gel pen! For the white ink, I use a Uniball Signo Gel Pen (bold). For black, I most often use the same, or microns.

Oh wow, I wouldn't even known they were pens. They look great! Thanks for getting back to me.

Everything is gorgeous. I cannot help but start the list of things for my new house that heavily involve you. ;)

Hey Mrs Wells! I was just thinking about you the other day and then realized "Duh, she has a blog!" I'm so glad you and Brent are doing well and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
Oh this is Kaitlyn by the way, lol.
