Brent and I had planned to go to Smith Mountain Lake for Labor Day, but last Tuesday we got a call from his mom letting us know his BB had passed away. The rest of the week became a whirlwind as we tried to get all our ducks in a row and figure out how we were going to make it down to South Carolina to be with his mom and the rest of the family.
Despite the circumstances, it ended up being a really nice weekend. We were able to celebrate BB being with the Lord, and I was able to meet a lot of people that have been so special to Brent and his family throughout the years. I got to hear his mom sing the most amazing rendition of How Great Thou Art at the service (I swear BB heard her it was so powerful), meet sweet little baby Greta Kate, and as a special gift from the Lord, He blessed us with a day at the lake afterall - wonderful friends of Brent's mom invited us for a day at their lake house.
Back into the hectic (yet exciting) world of "freelancing" now - but I'm so thankful the Lord gave us that little time out.
Here is a peek at our weekend:
(and of course a little time for doodling...)
Now I just need some time with my side of the family ~sigh~.
Happy Wednesday!

Megan!!! Helloooo, I just love reading your blog and looking at your art and your lettering and especially your doodles! We loved getting to spend time with you and Brent and Teddy and of course Teresa on Sunday-- BB would've loved it, too.
I still can't believe the rainbow?! Tray said it was a double, with a small one right beneath the big one. Let's make it a tradition whenever you guys come down during the summer.
