Good morning and happy Friday! Today I'm excited to share with you my Fab 5 DIY blogs; blogs where you can learn how to make crafty things, put together yummy dishes, and even build a chicken coop! (that's for you mom...)
Just in time for the weekend, and for you to make a Home Depot/Michaels/Pearl Art run...here are this weeks Fab 5 Blogs!
Elsie and Emma are sisters in crime who show the world how to make different creative projects every single day. Whether it be artsy projects (like pictured below) or recipes, as well as photography tips and decor things to make, these girls really cover their bases.
This was the first blog I really "followed", so they have a special place in my artsy blogging heart.
This blog is funny. Seriously. Run by Karen, who describes herself this way: "My name is Karen and I’m a television host. In Canada. Which means in terms of notoriety and wealth, I’m somewhere on par with the manager of a Sunset Tan in Wisconsin", this blog chronicles Karen's adventures trying to "figure things out".
This, of course, is the blog where you can learn how to build a chicken coop, but also how to make yogurt, grind beef, or (as seen below) how to make a tree stump table.
This block is pretty much awesome. And entertaining.
Kinsey is a midwest girl who get's to work with Elsie and Emma from A Beautiful Mess, doing DIY contributions. Which is probably why she easily made it onto my FAB 5 list. What I like about Kinsey's how-to's is that she does a LOT of fun, funky, fashion DIY's. If I knew how to sew, I would make a lot of these.
A lot of her DIY's are very simple, but super creative and very much bohemian. I like that. Below is one of my favorites:
Run by Cassity and her husband, Remodelaholic's Motto is this: "reduce, reuse, recycle, re-purpose, remodel". The post DIY projects that have to do with just about anything in your home that you could possibly do. You really just need to go explore.
Here is a look at their before/after hutch how-to:
Last, but certainly not least (since these are in random order of course), is How About Orange, run by Jessica Jones. I'm just going to let her describe her blog since she does it so well:
"How About Orange features craft project how-tos, decorating ideas, printable downloads, useful design resources, and lots of inspiration for people who like to create things."
I really like this blog because I really like free downloads. Ha ha. And besides all her how-to's and DIY projects, she has cute printables and templates to download.
Below, however, is one of my favorite DIY's that I'd like to make from her blog: A Fabric Origami Business Card Holder. So cute!
Ok friends, that wraps up this week's Fab 5! Hope you enjoy browsing these blogs and finding things to add to your list to make.
Tomorrow I will be switching gears and showing some of my work in the Lynchburg Art Festival, so I've got a busy day ahead getting ready for that!
Happy weekend!

I love that DIY watch...I've got to check out Kinsey's blog!
