Good morning! It's Wednesday already? What?
Just a quick note to share what I'll be up to in the studio today. First though, I'm very excited about the response to my hand lettering styles that I released this past week. I've added one more to the mix, The Molly, so I wanted to share that with you. Here's a little peek at this style...
The other big project I have been working on is a mural design competition.
I totally dig the downtown area of Lynchburg. It has so much character. A lot of the older buildings are being renovated and turned into amazing lofts, restaurants, etc. However, the very first time I drove through the downtown area, I said to Brent, "Wow, this place is just begging for murals."
There are a lot of big, blank walls. I've really contemplated becoming a street artist that sneaks out into the night, stenciling on flowers and funky shapes, bringing color and life to these blank canvases.
So when the Academy of Fine Arts announced they were seeking submissions for a mural design on their building, I went into high gear.
That is one mammoth, blank canvas.
So the next few days I'll be finalizing the proposal I've been working on. I'm quite excited about it - and even more excited that they don't want "a traditional landscape or cityscape". I'll show you my design once it is finished...but not until then!
Off to work!
